Project Overview
Developed for a competition organised by the Municipality of Ürgüp, the project proposed a comprehensive urban design vision for revitalising the centre of one of Cappadocia's most significant tourism destinations, strengthening the relationship between tourism and everyday urban life.
The design responded to Ürgüp's distinctive topography, geological heritage and cultural landscape. Public squares, pedestrian routes, commercial areas and civic spaces were reorganised in harmony with the natural terrain, creating stronger spatial connections and improving the visitor experience.
Inspired by Cappadocia's geological formations and local architectural character, the proposal established a context-sensitive and sustainable framework supporting local businesses. The project received a Purchase Award.
