Trabzon Ortahisar Industrial Transformation Master Plan

Developed through a national urban design competition organised by Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality, the project proposed the transformation of a 100-hectare industrial district into a new mixed-use urban centre for Ortahisar, Trabzon. Awarded First Prize, the proposal established a comprehensive vision for the long-term regeneration of one of the city's most strategically located development areas.

The project addressed the relocation of existing industrial functions and the redevelopment of the area as an integrated urban district combining residential, commercial, cultural and public uses, aiming to create a vibrant and accessible city centre that strengthens Trabzon's economic competitiveness.

Beyond physical redevelopment, the proposal incorporated economic, social and spatial strategies supporting long-term sustainability and resilience, introducing new public spaces, mobility networks, mixed-use areas and community facilities.
